The Central Springs Community Board of Education at their Feb.16 meeting approved the 2026-2027 academic school calendar.
The fall semester begins Aug. 24, and the last day of school is May 26,2027. Students return from winter break on Jan. 5, 2027.

Spring break will be March 15-19, 2027.

The sweet signs of spring are returning to Floyd County as the annual Maple Syrup Festival takes place Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026, from 8 to 10 a.m. (Earlier than previous years)at the Tosanak Recreation Area, 2543 Glass Road, Marble Rock.

Nora Springs Advertiser – Feb. 11, 1926 – 100 years

The Rockford City Council in their Feb. 10 meeting at City Hall approved a resolution setting the public hearing date for the General Fund Tax Levy for Fiscal Year 2026-2027 for March 30 at 5 p.m.

Mayor Scott Johnson called the meeting to order. Council members present were Paul Pearson, Alexandra Seibert, Sharon Enabnit, Jerry Schlader, and Derek Johnson. 

The Floyd County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday signed an Anti-Human Trafficking proclamation demonstrating their commitment to combating human trafficking.

Lyna Debner, board member of the Iowa Network Against Human Trafficking and Slavery (NAHT) spoke before the Board.

NAHT was Iowa’s first and remains the only statewide volunteer organization devoted exclusively to ending human trafficking in all its forms.
